Update by WeaponX (08/15/06)

Holy cow! An update? I've again re-updated and re-located the Official RJ Home Page and am quite pleased w/ myself! If you've never even heard of Red Justice before and have a local area network (because the net code is TERRIBLE) give it a download.  Please feel free to poke around the ol' site here and discover Red Justice for the first time...AGAIN!

Update by WeaponX (2/25/03)

Well school's back in full swing so that's pretty much slowed things down a whole lot.  Here's a little "Where are they now?" team update for the time being and a few reasons why you should give Red Justice a try.

WeaponX - with Girlfriend, at school, at Work, playing Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball, getting pumped for Audioslave concert, playing Magic the Gathering, learning C++ (shoots self)

Crazyhowie - at School, at work, commanding Natural Selection, PERFECTING C++, scouting new engines, slaving over Natural Selection, fixing computers, drooling over NS 1.1...

Rampager - at HIGH-school (hehe), playing videogames, occasionally stomping WeaponX at MTG, at work, growing out hair, loathing weekdays

Foxy Lady - with Boyfriend, at school, job huntin', Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball (that's right a girl plays it!), playing Warcraft III, enjoying new computer, being really really rediculously foxy

WHY SHOULD YOU THE COMMON HALF-LIFE GAMER PLAY RJ!?

We're well aware that there are some really good mods out there that cast quite an enormous shadow over our attempt at modding.  But what it pretty much comes down to is that 2 and a half people made Red Justice over the period of 2 months.  There are mods out there with 20+ people working on them that end up completely blowing.

Natural Selection, Counter-Strike, Day Of Defeat, and Action Half-Life are probably the best mods out there, and believe me we play them like mad.  But in between mods it's always good to throw a little Red Justice action in there.  It's fast pace nature acts as an excellent buffer between mods; and sometimes it just feels good to huck someone across the map w/ a spear.

YOU CAN'T GET PISSED.  This game is too crazy fun to get pissed off.  I curse up a storm when my teammates act like morons while we play NS, and I'm certainly not calm playing Action Half-Life.  That's why Red Justice was made.  There's a quick counter for EVERYTHING making it easy to fulfill your revenge when you're killed; this is nice cause it doesn't leave getting you shot by the same sniping bastard over and over and over and over...

LAN action perfection.  This mod wasn't made for 20 people on a server online to play, it was made for the 4 to 8 player action of LAN gaming.  Dodging miniature nukes and manning turrets just isn't as fun w/ the element of LAG.  Besides with the smoothness LAN play the sword fights can get pretty damn intense.

So if you and your friends are just chillin' checking out mods one night, like we've done MANY a night, and happen to stumble onto little old RJ, fire it up and give it a try.  You'll laugh you'll cry and you just might have a fun time.

Thanks for all your support!

Aaron "WeaponX" Cherney

Update by Crazyhowie (11/03/02)

I've just combined all the mirrors together in one little news post for you all. As you can tell there is only one main online server. Papa's RJ 2.6 Server, so if you can set one up please help us out.  I've started porting over the code to a newer version of it that will have much nicer netcode, more stable, and include all the latest Half-Life features.

Also another set of mirrors have arrived courtesy of Mod Guide and staff, who have set up a Red Justice german site.  Many thanks to them, and here's the link to the site with the downloads, check it out!

Update by Crazyhowie (10/30/02)

Non-working Class Menus!? Not getting scores for your kills!? Ya, that would piss me off too. A buggy server file got placed into the Beta 2.5 installer and I take full responsibility for this because of lack of communication! So, finally I have worked up a Beta 2.6 update patch and a 2.6 full installer.  As soon as these have links to mirroring sites, I'll put them here, so if you have downloaded the  mod, maybe give it another chance before throwing it to the side with this urgent update! Sorry for any inconveniences.

Update by WeaponX (10/24/02)

This update concerns Beta 2.  I've removed the link to download Beta 2 from our Files page for the time being.  In only 7 days we'll have an amazing new version out that's virtually a different game; so different that it almost hurts to even see the original Beta 2.  Regardless, in 7 days you'll be able to download Beta 2.5 which rocks a whole lot.  We've been doing playtesting all week and the response has been phenomenal!  Here's some new pics below for you to check out as well as an original wallpaper done by Foxy Lady!  Enjoy!

Update by WeaponX (10/22/02)

Wow, today is great day for Red Justice!  Not only did we move the website to the oh-so-lovely PlanetHalf-Life, but I spent seven hours last night making a new map when I should've been studying for my Philosophy midterm.  The map (Operation Overkill) features an entirely new gameplay mode called Assault.  Basically the concept of Assault mode is simple, the Greys attack the Blood League's base and have to stay in it for 30 seconds straight.  Man there were some good moments in the playtest last night!  We've also worked out virtually every gameplay affecting bug in the game.  Below I have some screenshots from the playtest.  Please enjoy them, we sure loved making them.  Tonight is the big operation, not only another level by yours truly but an 8+ player playtest...I'll let you know how things go!

Update by WeaponX (10/21/02)

Today Crazyhowie and myself worked our butts off to bring the mod it's first ever VGUI menus.  Man oh man, I never thought this day would come;  they're so sexy!  And speaking of sexy, we'd all like to welcome the lovely Foxy Lady to the team, who'll be doing some graphical work for the web page as well as a Wallpaper pack in the near future.  Welcome aboard Foxy Lady!  The mod is really squared away right now and we're eagerly anticipating gamers' responses...that means Beta testing is just around the corner!  Below are some screens of the VGUI menu in action...ENJOY!
