Hello! How is everyone's week so far? Mine has been fine. It's been raining here so I haven't been able to take pictures or do any gardening. I was hoping I would have been able to. It's all good, I'll have to do with indoor pictures and work.

Speaking of which, yesterday I did some spring cleaning which felt really good. I cleaned up our "computer-room-slash-yarn-room-now-whatever-room" and found the tops of THREE desks! They are now all clean and ready to be used. But I prefer the floor in the front room so it'll be a while until I use them.

The front room floor has been used a LOT lately since I've decided to start up my Etsy shop up again. The little capes I made for Aaron's nephew and niece were a big hit so I figured I'd make some more and sell them. They are going to be customizable so people can pick which letter they would like on it.

So far, I have five capes made and are waiting to have letters stitched onto them and then photographed. Also, I have made about eight or nine crocheted headbands with a flower, star, or bow on it. (Think Hello Kitty)

The goal is to have the projects finished, pictures taken, and listed on Etsy but Sunday. I might be able to get everything done before then, if I hurry. Either way, I hope that people buy my capes. With summer coming up, I think they could do well. *crosses fingers*

Time to get back to work as there is actually work to do and once I get that done I can get back to working on the capes. I'd be done already but I'm finding it hard to concentrate due to a stomach ache. Ganbare me!

Mood: Stomach ache-y and hungry
Listening: new Grizzly Bear. I can't get enough of this song. The singer is a goober, but I really like that xD Two Weeks
Wishing: I had a latte and oatmeal
Loving: Aaron for being the most perfect husband ever.
Thinking: THE BEST THOUGHT EVER! I'm going to Sasquatch Festival next month- I should be making knitted wristbands w/ the names of the bands we want to see. I made Aaron a Nine Inch Nails one a few years ago and it's SO EASY! I should make some for Of Montreal, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, and TV On The Radio! At that rate, I should be making cute ones to sell on my Etsy shop! Brilliance!!

The weather has been so nice lately! So nice infact, Aaron and I have been doing a bit of gardening:

My Dad made us these wooden boxes last week. They are just SO NICE! I planted the two small white pots, and Aaron did the other ones. We ran out of soil for the big box so we'll wait until this weekend maybe to do more planting.

Work has been slow enough for me to get a lot of knitting done. Yesterday I started and finished Little K's super hero cape:

I can't wait to give it to her! Hopefully I can do it soon.

While I was making Little K's cape, I got to do quite a bit of reading. Thanks to this super amazing Christmas present Aaron got me two years ago:

I had the chance to get over a hundred pages read in Eragon. It's really good so far. Actually, I'm going to head out and get some knitting/reading done.

Mood: Happy
Wearing: PJ's still (yay for lazy days off!)

Hello everyone! Hurray for a new week, huh? I'm excited. Have a good amount of knitting/crocheting planned for this week, walking to and from work, hanging out with some friends hopefully on Wednesday, oh, and frogging of two finished projects. At my MIL's birthday party, I got pictures of the super hero cape and the headband:

Little F showing off his cape to the family. His mom said she wanted one with her initial on it!

Super cute huh? The flower is a little big, but I think it's neat.

Next, I shall see if I can figure out this little dress pattern I kinda said I would make without thinking... The pattern is made for newborns - three months, and the little girl I'm making it for will be 2 this year. So what I'll probably end up doing is just making the dress just as the directions say, so I know what I'm doing and how big it will end up being, that way I know how and where to make it bigger. Other people who have made it said it's a pretty quick project, so I don't think the time will be wasted in making it essentially twice. It will probably be for the best anyways, because the first time around (as far as projects I make) don't always turn out as nicely as the second one.

Alrighty, enough talking! It's time for some dreaded crocheting!

Mood: Good! It's hot out today, so the A.C. feels great.
Drinking: Water from this really cute "LemonKiss" water bottle I got in Seattle
Eating: Inhaled two small packages of honey roasted peanuts. YUM!
Listening: Lisa Miskovsky - Changes
Watching: Nothing. Waiting oh so ever patiently for the next episode of Legend of the Seeker on Hulu.

I can't believe that it's Sunday already! My goodness this week has flown by! Thankfully, it has been such a pleasantly productive week- I hope next week will be like this week!

In addition to the three hats I made this week, I also made a super hero cape for my little nephew. I'm going to give it to him today at my MIL's birthday party, so I'll try to snap some pictures of him in it.

This pattern was made up as I went along. Even the crocheted "F".

Here's me wearing it, it's not the best pic of the cape- hopefully I'll get some of little "F" wearing it today!

As much as I dislike crocheting, I have been doing a lot of it lately. And I guess it's not that I HATE crocheting- some people have an affinity with certain things, and I just don't have one for crocheting (despite my best efforts). Although! I will say that I might have found part of my problem w/ crocheting yesterday while I was making that "F". As I was crocheting into the next stitch, I wouldn't go under all of that stitch, only part of it. This explains a bit. Not everything, but a bit. Crocheting the "F" really wasn't that bad. I would even go as far as to say that I enjoyed it. There were no distractions to make me loose count of what stitch I was on, I was looking great as I was making it. So I guess when I can really focus on crocheting, I don't mind it that much. So last night as I was at the in-laws playing FFXI and I decided to start another crochet project. This time it was a crocheted headband from Creative Yarn. I am really into hair accessories right now, especially if they are flowers, bows, and big. I actaully didn't understand her instructions for the headband so I improvised. The flower part, I understood and that turned out super cute. I just need to sew them together (which I will do later because I'm going to wear it to my MIL's birthday party today.

Not a great picture, but I'll have Aaron take some of me later when it's done and on my head.

I would like to make a bunch of these, in different colors and shapes of flowers. Maybe even a bow. Or two or three. Hehe!

Time to go get ready for the party! Later!
Mood: Inspired
Eating: A bowl of Cheerio's
Listening: To Final Fantasy XI music (cuz Aaron is playing right now)
Drinking: Hopefully some good drinks at the party! Remembering: OH! I need to make some Negimayaki for the party! Almost forgot!

Happy 89th Month Anniversary Honey!

Today has been such a great day! I got up early, took my time getting ready for my day, spent some time on the internet, cleaned the kitchen (and kept it clean while I made lunch), took pictures of finished knitting projects, had a nice lunch- over all a nice day! While I have four finished knitting projects, I sadly only have pictures of three. I gave one away to a friend without taking pictures of it. If I remember, I'll try to snag a picture of it if I see him.

My first big project in a while, the Diminishing Rib Cardigan is finished:

My nephew wanted a hat so he bought me the yarn to make him this:

I had some extra yarn, so I made him a Hot Head from Stitch 'n Bitch since it's so fast and easy to knit up:

Next up for knitting is a super hero cape for my other nephew who will be turning 5 this year. It's going to be bright red with a lightning bolt or his initial on it. I can't quite decide on that detail. I thought his initial might be neat. In Debbie Bliss's first magazine, she has a pattern for a pillow (I believe) that you can put initials on, so all the letters are charted out for you in it. Then again, a lightning bolt would be really neat. I just can't decide- lol!

On the food front, I am really excited about today's lunches. The pictures turned out a bit blury, but it works!

Aaron's lunch- turnkey sandwich on whole grain bread, carrots, applesause, negimayaki (ham wrapped green onions) and a kit-kat.

My lunch- Grilled cheese sandwich with bacon & mushrooms (I wasn't sure if I'd like this, but I really did!), raisens, carrots w/ranch, negima, and applesause.

Time to start writing a pattern for the cape! Laters!

Mood: Surprisingly full from lunch still (and I didn't even eat all my lunch, the applesause is waiting patiently for me lol!)
Listening: To a mixture of JPOP and Sasquatch music. Currently it's TV On The Radio.
Drinking: Essential: Vitamin Water

My poor, poor little blog. I feel so bad for not posting. We've been pretty busy lately- from playing a TON of Final Fantasy XI, to going to Seattle for three days this last weekend, to doing lots of family stuff, and work. (Well, I can't really use work as an excuse since I do most of my crafting/twittering/blogging done at work... but lately there has actually been work to do). Anyways! I really want to blog more often because I think it will help me get inspired and stay inspired for a few things.

First, I want to make more and better bentos. I've been reading a lot on Just Bento and the Food Network for ideas on healthy, quick, and tasty foods for bentos. My library of recipes has grown enormously as of late so I think I can do it! My goal is to make bentos the night before and take pictures to post them. d^_^b

Speaking of yummy, I made ramen last night for dinner. I tweaked my normal recipe a bit (added soy sause, mirin, and Sriracha sause). For toppings I normally use onions, green onions, meat, and bean sprouts- but I decided to try something different and used leeks instead of green onions, and added mushrooms for added nutrition. IT WAS SO GOOD!!! Here it is in all it's yummy glory:

On the knitting front, I've been tossing the idea around about starting up my Etsy shop again, for maybe a little bit extra money. I have no idea what I'd even sell on it though- maybe some cute crocheted knitchen/bath scrubbies. Since summer time is coming up, I could make my water bottle holders, I sold a few of those before... Hmm... Maybe I could make some shortsleeve light-weight shrugs. We'll see I guess.

I've been working on a beanie for my nephew, just the Hot Head beanie from Stitch 'n Bitch:

The cardigan from the latest Interweave Knits was finished last Thrusday. My MIL washed it in hair conditioner so it's all super soft. I think I need to block it though. The front is trying to curl. Sadly, I forgot to bring it to work today so no pictures of that yet. Well, that's all for now. Time to get some knitting or work done!

Mood: Hungry, my breakfast cookies just didn't do the trick this morning.
Watching: Nothing atm... Since there isn't a new Legend of the Seeker, I've been trying to find different shows on Hulu and Funimation but haven't been able to find anything yet. Must keep looking.
Listening: Hangry & Angry- a new JPOP band... well JPOP in music but silly/cute goth image. It's pretty amazing.
Drinking: Vitamin Water: Focus. This one isn't as good as the B-Relaxed or the XXX: Akai, Blueberry, & Pomegranate one.

Busy busy busy! I finally finished the second blanket for my friend, so her baby package is complete! Just have to pack and ship that out on Monday. *Gotta remember to take some pictures of the blanket before I ship it!*

After hanging out with a friend a few nights ago, I have become oddly inspired to crochet a blanket. I know! I know what you're thinking- I HATE crocheting, why would I crochet a blanket of all things! Not quite sure, to tell you the truth. But I think it's the perfect project to do while listening to podcasts, because you don't have to watch anything- just listen. Since we listen to a few podcasts each week and since I normally knit or play video games while we're listening to them, I figured it wouldn't hurt to take a crack at crocheting a blanket. Now to find the perfect blanket pattern. This may take a while!

On the video game front, I started watching Ikki Tousen the anime the other day, so now the video game is making more sense. It's even more fun now, although, it is still rather challenging. I haven't made it past the 4th boss on arcade mode. But that's just a matter of practice. Once I spend some more time with it, hopefully, I'll do better.

Last night we picked up two copies of the Phantasy Star Portable game, so Aaron and I can play it together. Hopefully it's better than the Dreamcast version of the game. I am in the minority of people who didn't like that game. But since the game is on a faster system than the Dreamcast, I'm hoping it won't be as slow as it's predesecor. Either way, I am really looking forward to playing another game with Aaron and spending lots (more) time with him.

Well, I'm off to go play Ikki Tousen. Wish me luck! *cheer!*

Mood: Wishful (for lots of things)
Listening: Beach House
Watching: I tried watching Knight Rider on Hulu, hoping it would be so bad it's good, but no such luck. Started the first episode of Babylon 5- that show had the worst budget! Horrible costumes, even worse stages and 3D animation. The script tries to be more than the show is, but I think it's got potential to be an enjoyably bad show. ^^

Drinking: Nothing, sadly.

Crafting: Nothing atm. I was thinking about starting up my Etsy store again and sell cute kitchet and bath scrubbies. We'll see though, cuz that's all crocheted stuff, and while I'm inspired to crochet a blanket, I don't think I'm ready to commit to crocheting 100%. I'm a fickle crafting mistress. Muhahaha!

#120 // 03.21.09

Inspired by my new PSP game, I made some new PSP wallpapers based on Ikki Tousen. Let me tell you, it was hard to find G-rated pics. The manga and anime are full of fan service (something you have to unlock in the.) I wasn't aware of this. Oh well though. The pics are super cute. I hope you like them!

Mood: Happy and kinda sad (I'm listening to sweet/beautiful/tragic/love songs)
Listening: The Decemberists AMAZING new album. It's a story about two lovers- a girl and a faun. His mother is the jealous Queen of the Forest. The girl gets kidnapped by a murderer and the faun goes after her. *sniffles* By the end of the last song, I was sitting here at the comptuper almost in tear. Why am I listening to it again? This is by far their best album. Damn you Colin Meloy and your tragic love stories!
