#109 // 01.26.09 Dear 2009,Hey! How is your Monday so far? I hope it is warm where you are because it is so goshdarn cold here! Can it be spring yet? What sort of bribe could I give you to make the weather warm up faster? Hehe! Anyways! Enough about the weather.I have really enjoyed spending time with you this year. We have been pretty productive haven't we? I read all my Christmas manga, finished Wild Arms on the PSP (60 hours! ), kept the kitchen SPOTLESS clean to two days in a row (I know! I know! I'm trying to get my butt in gear), got our video game website coded and set up (I should get access to that TODAY! Yay!!!), knitted and completed four projects, AND finished Puzzle Quest on the PSP!! So much has happened so far this year- I hope we can keep working together and do this all year long!*waves* Sarah #108 // 01.20.09 After weeks of debates and arguments inside my head, I have decided I am going to do it. I am going to frog that green cardigan:![]() I worked so hard on it- spends MONTHS on that thing! And when you put it on, the right side drapes down about two inches farther than the left. ![]() ![]() ![]() This yarn is beautiful and was wonderful to work with so I am not going to let that go to waste. It will be frogged and turned into this: long sleeved shrug. There are a few projects that I need to finish before I will start this, but later on this month or next month I will get to it.Mood: slightly chilly Listening: game demos at the store Watching: I should be watching the Presidential stuff... #107 // 01.16.09 WE STARTED A VIDEO GAME SITE! Our favorite video game media site, 1Up.com was bought up by a huge media corporation and more than half of the people working there were laid off. 90% the people who's podcasts we listened to, gone. The magazine of theirs that we had a subscription to, gone. All the funny online articles, shows, and mini-features, gone. It's so very sad. It sounds like the company was bought up yesterday and the people who were laid off got their pink slips right before they left work last night. Pretty dumb. Pretty insainly dumb. On the bright side though, these people are so talented and bright, I have no fear that they will land on their feet and find a new (and excellent) job soon. This leads to an idea that Aaron and I have been tossing around for a little while now. We're thinking about starting our own video game blog/website. Not a news site because there are so many of those... but just a spot for us to talk about what's new in games for us, what we've been playing, our thoughts on games/news/events/people in the field/etc. We even talked about starting our own video game podcast. Nothing big or substantial, but something fun to do and to help fill the void of loosing three out of the four we listened to on 1Up. If/when I have more news about that I will let people know. In knitting news, today I am going on an adventure! I am going to go out and see if I can find me a sweater or two from a local thrift store to unravel and turn into yarn balls to knit into something else. My sister is going to come with me and I am sure the two of us will come home with fun things to unravel. A quick thank you to Marce over at The Brown Berry Chronicles for the advice! That's all for now! Have a great Wednesday everyone!! Mood: Mad at Ziff-Davis and UGO for firing my "friends" at 1Up ![]() Listening: the new Animal Collective cd Watching: will be finishing up the 70's version of Persuasion #103 // 01.05.09 Hello 2009! Welcome to the world! I think you and I will become good friends. Let's do our best to get along and have lots of tons of fun!![]() This year is going to be a great year. Aaron and I can feel it. /psych One of my goals this year is to balance out my crafting, gaming, reading, and making computer art. It seems that I will focus on one of these things so much that I don't do anything else.~Aaron and my family bought me a bunch of books I want to read ~I got a gift card for my local yarn store so I want to knit ~We're making great progress in Final Fantasy XI (I'm about 1/3 of the way to lvling to 75 with my Black mage and my Bard hit 58 last night. We thought it would take us YEARS to get one job up to 75, and now I'm close to that with one job and I bet in a month or two I'll get my second job to 75! That's so awesome! Eve, you should come back and join my server. )~So many great games are coming out that I would like to make PSP wallpapers for. I would love to be making more of them more often. So speaking of PSP wallpapers, I had a customer come into the store the other day and ask me to make some for him. He has all my game related ones already (he brings his PSP with him to the store in the chance I have new ones to put on to his system). His request was for some Silent Hill wallpapers. Specifically ones with nurses on it. Silent Hill is creepy to begin with, and SH nurses are even creepier. Since I'm not really into gore or anything like that, I made sure to keep these wallpapers G rated. Here they are: ![]() ![]() Side note: a young customer just walked up to me, flashed me the peace sign, and said (with that stupid head nod): "'Sup Sarah?" What's with kids these days!?!! ANYWAYS! To keep myself from feeling icky from creepy pics, I made a few Pokemon PSP wallpapers. Yeah, I figured it was the farthest thing from Silent Hill- lol! They cute: ![]() ![]() Yeah, that's what I thought. It was too funny to NOT make a wallpaper out of. One of my friends will really like it. Haha!Time to get some work done! Later! *waves* Mood: Smily ![]() Listening: Shoko Nakagawa "Big Bang!" album Watching: Shoko Nakagawa "Calling Location" Knitting: nothing Crocheting: Secret Slippers Reading: Eragon (thanks Jenna- it's really good so far!) #102 // 12.30.08 Today we're leaving for my Grandma's house to stay there for a few days to spend New Year's sleding in the boonies. My Grandma's "next door neighbor" (it's in quotes because this neighbor is about 1/4 of a mile away from her house) is letting us (Aaron, 3 friends, and myself) use his 2 room cabin for trip. We went up last year and had a BLAST! My Grandpa plowed one of his hills so we could sled down with out hitting sagebrush and boulders. I'm *SO* looking forward to lots of yummy food, sledding, getting sore, and watching bad movies until we can't stay awake.HAPPY NEW YEARS!!! Mood: Excited! Listening: new Christmas cd's: Shoko Nakagawa, Hyde, L~Arc-en-Ciel, and NEWS! #101 // 12.25.08 Merry Christmas!! Aaron and I spent the morning cuddling and opening up our present. Man, did he spoil me! So much cool stuff! We're going to start getting ready to go to my parents house for late lunch/early dinner. Have a super great day everyone!Mood: Lovely ![]() #100 // 12.17.08 Christmas is getting closer! I am so excited! Aaron is going to be thoroughly spoiled. Hehe! On the whole, I feel pretty good about presents for everyone. I can't wait to give my family their presents!!My youngest sister always does very thoughtful and amazing gifts for our family each year. She has given paintings, drawings, handmade stuffed animals, among other things. Because she does such cool things each year, Aaron and I decided we wanted to do something super cool for her. Not going to say too much about it, obviously. ^^ So I decided that crafting during work isn't as fun as it might sound. Yeah, I may have spent 5 hours knitting yesterday at work, but today I couldn't get 3 stitches in edge wise. *sigh* Oh well. Maybe tonight after work I will be able to get some time in on it. GAH! GTG, my customers need me. :/ Mood: great, but kinda blah regarding customers Food: Atomic Ale tonight for a friends birthday. Wearing: grey skinny jeans, long black tank, long white tank, loose pinky/salmon tee, cream and black patterned zip-up, and black boots. |
