#019 May 16th, 2007No knitting today. I have two new wallpapers instead... no pics. Lol!
#018 May 14th, 2007First off, Happy Birthday Dad! *^^* The little hearts right below the characters heads up there, are links (surprise!). The left heart is for the main page, the second heart is my "more" page where you can find info about me as well as all links that were on my other layout. The right heart is a link to my husbands(<3) blog. Here's what I've been working on lately. The Knit.1 magazine Thigh-High Leg Warmers (as modeled by a little friend of mine):Our cat, Rinoa, is named after a video game character (from the game Final Fantasy VIII), and inspired by the characters outfit in the game, I made my cat a hat. And she loves it. NOT! *lol*Hope everyone had a great weekend!
#017 May 11th 2007 Hello blogland! I'm back with knitting news as well as a new layout. Isn't this such a pretty layout? This layout is from Ameagari Designs, Sydney has so many cute layouts there, it was hard for me to decide which one to download. If things don't look right, I apologize, this new layout is going to be an all day project today- getting all the html and files in order. Operation: Major Frog (see entry #013) has been a huge success! Out of the seven projects that were frogged five are 100% complete, one is 75% complete (I ran out of yarn- *cough*Ihatemytension*couch*), and one has yet to be started. So getting those projects done/worked on is something I feel great about. Since this was such a big undertaking, I did a few "instant gratification" projects inbetween the big ones. Two of the projects were not going to be reknit, so they are complete (in their balls). The first project I finished was Eva. Here's the before and after: Next up, the Knit.1 Magazine "Cardigan": Then I did the Razor Cami. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it... I think I made it a bit too big. Any comments would be appreciated! (*please!* I'm fully ready to refrogg and reknit this smaller): Here's how the Interweave Knits "Not-A-Shrug" is coming along: The Thigh-High Leg Warmers have yet to be started. I actually haven't seem this yarn since I frogged the project and am too lazy to search for it... I live in a desert, so partially wool legwarmers is not something I'm getting excited about at the moment. As for my fun inbetween projects, I made Monica for my Sister-in-laws baby. Then there's my Cat Hat from the Stitch and Bitch book: ![]() OH! How could I forget! The Vouge Knitting "Braided Scarf" is finished! I <3 it so much: ![]() Wow! That's a lot of knitting in two months! Mood: excitedPlaying: Pokemon Pearl #016 Topic: So sorry!I'm sorry I haven't updated lately, but I've been so busy with Operation: Major Frog. The progress I'm making on it is EXCITING!! (Check out the progress bar on the marquee). Although so much work has been done, I'm not going to update until I can get pictures taken. So in the meantime, check out a side project that I've been working on at work: Sweethearts Designs. It's an anime desktop wallpaper site. There aren't a lot of wallpapers yet, but I'll be adding more as I make more. :D Have a great weekend!! But, since we don't, I must resort to surfing the web and creating desktop wallpapers. Here what I accomplished at work today: :D O:MF has been going great- I'll update about that later. Have a happy Easter!! #014 // 04.01.07 Topic: Operation: Major Frog - DAY TWOMore casualties than expected have been reported today from Operation: Major Frog's head official General Sarah. Six projects were predicted to be frogged during this Operation, but one more disliked FO was caught in the hands of the Heartless Knitstress, as she is known in the field. The Razor Cami: whose style was loved, but the small size despised, was frogged this morning along with all of the other projects that weren't frogged last night. As much as it is a horrific sight for a knitter so see so much time, effort, and love go into a project, (let alone SEVEN), rolled up into balls: it is also one of excitement and encouragement. "Knowing I knit these projects fairly well despite the few minor quirks *cough*majorproblems*cough,* I know I can knit them properly now. I have learned so much from every project and have grown tremendously as a knitter over the last year, I have no doubt in my mind that these projects will be back and better than even when O:MF is complete," said General Sarah in an interview. Now that 100% of the frogging has been completed, O:MF can now move on to the next step, Reknitting. It has been decided that the 'Alternate Eva' and 'Garter St Scarf' are NOT going to be reknitted due to the lack of yarn. Until more yarn can be found, they will be properly care for in General Sarah's personal stash basket. No word yet as to which project will be reknitted first. Stay tuned into Knitstress Inc. Dot Net (KIDN) for later updates. ~KIDN field reporters #013 // 03.31.07 Topic: "Operation: Major Frog" Commences - Day OneThe victims are: Eva - I just don't like it. It's too long for one, and secondly the neck is too big. Also I was a dork and sewed it inside out- twice. So I left it the way it was. Looking at it now, I do kinda like it, but I prefer the garter st look on this pattern better so I will be changing that. Cabled Legwarmers - I LOVE these so much and it breaks my heart to do this, but they just don't fit right. The top and bottom ribbing is too big, and the body is too tight. In the second pic, I'm NOT stretching it, that's just how big it is. *sniff* Not-A-Shrug - Not sure what went wrong here, but it looks funky. I KNOW I can make it work though. Cardigan - The cardigan is just too wide- look how much it sticks out in the back! Ahk! Gross! Alternate Eva - I started this with a different color of Victor yarn but I only had one skein of it. I can't begin to tell you how good I am at doing that. Garter St Scarf - This was started for a friend but, again, I only had one skein of it. ><' My plan is to REKNIT them properly so I can wear them. I have no doubt this will be a long and difficult process, but I know I can do it. For their memories, I WILL do it. *sniff* Mood: Bummed ![]() Watching: Lupin III Listening: Morressy Reading: 1up.com Forums #012 // 03.29.07 Topic: Wallpapers for your desktopWhile I have been getting knitting done, I've also been working of some desktop wallpapers. These aren't anything super special, but I'm very happy with them. I learned some new techniques and downloaded some new brushes for Paintshop so I figured I'd try them out. Feel free to use them if you'd like. :D #011 // 03.24.07 Topic: Birthday, UFO, and a RecipeLast Sunday was my birthday, (*yay!*) and I got some really neat presents from my family. I'd like to post pictures, but I keep forgetting to take them. Aaron got me Wrestlemania V on VHS (oh yeah! Cheezy family-friendly wrestling rocks!) and he imported the Nana anime dvds. *blushes* He loves me SO much<3. Since then I've been busy knitting, cooking, and shopping. ^^ Feeling some unexpected wild inspiration, I picked up an old UFO I started about 1 1/2 years ago. Eva, a poncho/caplet thing by Kim Hargreaves and I LOVE it. (I wish I could find a picture online for it but I can't). I started it with Lion Brand Watercolors yarn, but all the stores around me discontinued carrying the yarn so I couldn't finish it. *cries* Two days ago I bought Victor by Cascade Yarns in a really pretty green, which isn't pictured oddly enough. I frogged the old one and started it up with the new yarn and it's knitting up SO quickly. We watched Casino Royal (on Blue-Ray :O) and I knit the back piece and started the back piece by the time the movie was over. Hopefully, if I keep up this pace, I'll have it finished by early tomorrow. Another project I'd like to start this weekend is another caplet. Eva inspired me to design one of my own. Not in Reverse St. st though like Eva- probably in normal St. st. I'd really like to add a lace accent but I haven't decided what exactly I want it to look like. Maybe a leaf or petal pattern would be cute, but I'm having a hard time finding different lace pattern online. :/ Once I finish Eva, I'm going to have to dig through my books and magazines to find some neat looking stitch patterns and lace patterns. Some high school friends who moved to the east coast a couple years ago, moved back this weekend and we all got together and had a potluck dinner last night. Since it was a special occasion I tried a new recipe, beer bread. It's SO GOOD and super easy. The recipe is from Aaron's sister; she made it for us last week at her house. Surprisingly, it doesn't taste like beer. It tastes kinda like wheat bread with a little something extra. (My sister HATES the taste of beer, but she liked it. ^^) We loved it so much we ate more than half her loaf! ^^ Here's the recipe: Ingredients: 3 cups Self-Rising Flour 3 tablespoons sugar 1 (12 oz.) can/bottle beer Preheat oven to 350*. Grease a 9x5x3 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Add all ingredient into a bowl and mix well, dough will be sticky. Put in pan and back for 45 minutes. To check if done, take a knife and tap the top of the loaf, if it sounds hollow, it's done. Take loaf out of pan and let it cool on a wire rack. Cut and serve. The cool thing is that you can use any type of beer. Aaron's sister used some higher-end beer and her loaf tasted a little different than in mine that had Drop Top in it. I'm excited to try it out with lots of different beers. Last night, I found a second baking pan, so I'm going to make two loafs tonight, each with a different beer and see how that turns out. I've got some stuff to work on, so I'll ttyl! (Total fan girl here!!) ![]() Head on over to the pattern page for this pattern. ^_^ *cough* I'm just getting over tonsillitis... blah! It's the fourth time in my life that I've had it. :/ Today is the first day in over a week that I've actually done my hair and made myself up; I just haven't had the energy. I'm so super happy that I'm on the "up-and-up!" Lol, I can actually talk today as well, so that's great. My voice disappeared about five or six days ago and I just got it back. *yay for being able to speak in full dialog as apposed to half sentences before going into a coughing fit!* :D Alrighty, time for bed!
